10th Planet Portland offers the highest-level No Gi Jiu Jitsu training and instruction for students of all levels in Portland, Oregon. It is our goal to help our students learn the art of Jiu Jitsu in a safe, fun and competitive environment.
Fundamentals of Jiu Jitsu (Beginner Jiu Jitsu)
The Fundamentals program is designed to jumpstart your grappling journey with a comprehensive 16 week curriculum covering the essential jiu jitsu positions and submissions. Our goal is to create a training environment that allows beginners to feel comfortable and safe while they work to master our Jiu Jitsu curriculum. In the fundamentals class, we emphasize technique & drilling and focus two weeks on subject unit to ensure students gain a deep understanding of the concepts. Our students are important, they deserve the best instruction.
Advanced Jiu Jitsu
The Advanced Jiu Jitsu program is designed to develop and refine jiu jitsu practitioners and competitors. The emphasis in advanced class is the application of technique, timing and position to control and defeat our opponents by submission. We are proud of our competition team and believe that strong competitors are best developed by a strong team environment combining competition with a care for our training partners.
Yoga with Jen Siegel
10th Planet Portland Yoga classes are customized to make your Jiu Jitsu better. They take from the world of yoga the things that encourage both flexibility and flexible thinking. In 10th Planet Portland Yoga we practice the art of breathing while moving, staying calm under pressure, and moving in ways that compliment our unique strengths. We also practice moving in ways that counter-balance some of the repetitive stress training in Jiu Jitsu can cause to keep both body and mind healthy. Classes are simple enough for students of any age or ability, even students not actively training in Jiu Jitsu.
The 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu philosophy is built on a foundation of open minded thinking. No matter the discipline or school, there is always something to be learned from physical contest with our peers. Friday night open rolls at 10th Planet Portland consists of 2 hours of rolling sessions that are available to all schools, students, and skills levels.
